PEARL’s 21st Annual Conference & Exhibition, which took place April 12th – April 15th at the Hyatt Regency Greenville in Greenville, SC, brought the electrical
reconditioning industry together to network, to participate in workshops and training, and to hear from industry leaders.
This year’s conference focused on the business side of electrical equipment reconditioning, with an opening keynote presented by Dr. Michael Thurston, Research Professor
and Director, Center of Excellence in Advanced & Sustainable Manufacturing, the Golisano Institute for Sustainability. Dr. Thurston’s areas of active research include sustainable
production, product remanufacturing, smart products and systems, life-cycle engineering, building and manufacturing energy systems, and asset health management. His project work
includes collaborations in product and process design with many companies as well as in technology development and deployment with organizations supporting Department of Defense ground, sea,
and air systems.
The PEARL Conference & Exhibition also provided a range of conference workshops from learning how to find and retain the right employees to financial planning that drives
growing companies. Additional ‘hands-on’ sessions were also available focused on the technical principals of electricity, insulation theory as well as inspection and maintenance
for circuit breakers and other types of electrical equipment.
